House portraits make unique and beautiful gifts for special occasions that rise above the ordinary: Stan has created many pieces to celebrate anniversaries, house-warmings, special birthdays, weddings, and retirements.  Each piece is unique, and can be tailored to your wishes.

Immortalizing one’s home (or the home of a dear friend) is the ultimate acknowledgement of the love that bonds family and friends, and the process creates a one-of-a-kind object of beauty. But the scope of this work does not end there — these drawings are not only the perfect gifts for friends and family, but make eye-catching pieces for clients, business associates, or even for yourself!

Stan has created many of these special keepsakes over decades — a dozen of his drawings filled a 1976 Town of Plymouth “Tour of Homes” commemorative booklet to celebrate the nation’s Bicentennial — and his work has hung in many local small businesses and galleries. For many of those older Colonial and Victorian homes, these pictures have both celebrated their history and documented their change.

Each piece is created by hand on archival paper without tracing or mechanical aids to ensure a completely unique and custom piece. You are an integral part of the experience, beginning with choosing the sizing and the views of the home. Although Stan prefers drawing from life, the essence of time, distance, daylight, and the seasons are most effectively captured in selected photos.

Over the course of his career, Stan has completed commissioned drawings of churches, schools, boats, and historical house interiors. Take a look at Stan’s more recent portfolio to get an idea of some of the work he’s done, and then contact him to start the process.
